Welcome to the newest chapter of my hair career. Whether you've been here since 260 Studio, recently found me as @mads.cook.hair, or this is the first time you've ever heard of me—hi! My name is Madison Cook, a lived-in color and hair extension specialist located in Denver, Colorado.

I'm overjoyed to introduce myself as the Lived-In Luxe Stylist, bringing you a salon experience that goes beyond the chair.

Over the past 10+ years in the hair industry, there has been an influx of rapid change. The pandemic created a massive ripple effect, impacting traditional salons and contributing to the rise of independent stylists, suite owners, booth renters, and freelancers. This shift left many stylists uncertain about their future, with some ultimately leaving the industry in search of more stability.

On the other hand, this change also created incredible opportunities for independent stylists to grow their businesses due to increased client demand. Fast forward to today, and both stylists and clients are navigating realistic expectations around hair trends, the rising costs of services, and an overwhelming amount of information available online.

Lived-In Luxe | Beyond the Chair was created to help bridge the gap between stylists and clients. There is so much information available, but who do you trust these days?

If it wasn't already clear, my goal with Lived-In Luxe is to help both clients and stylists feel confident—not only when they walk into the salon, but long after they leave.

I believe in leading by example and providing education that empowers clients to better understand the salon experience. This includes topics such as how to value your stylist, how to communicate concerns if an issue arises, when it may be time to find a new stylist, how to choose the right stylist for your needs, what realistic expectations to have when visiting a luxury salon, understanding salon terminology, and recognizing potential red flags from both clients and stylists alike.

For stylists, I believe there is a significant gap in our industry when it comes to delivering an experience that matches the investment clients are making. I am passionate about helping stylists better educate clients on at-home maintenance, communicate confidently, explain the value behind their services, set expectations, and understand why not every stylist offers every service.

Lived-In Luxe | Beyond the Chair is an experience that doesn't end when your appointment does. It's about creating confidence, connection, and trust both inside and outside of the salon.
